One way to get your videos out to the community is through the Idea Forum. By posting your video as a Recent Topic you can receive feedback in the form of comments from other members of the Video Learning Lab.
To post your videos on the Video Learning Lab’s Idea Forum, follow these simple instructions:
Creating a YouTube Account
Videos on the Idea Forum are from YouTube, so your video must first be uploaded there. To upload to YouTube you must first have a YouTube account.
If you already have a YouTube account, skip to the next section, "Uploading to YouTube".
- Click
"Sign Up" which can e found in the upper right hand corner of any YouTube page. - Fill out the Sign Up form and wait for your confirmation e-mail.
- Follow the link in the confirmation e-mail.
Uploading to YouTube
If you have already uploaded you video to YouTube, skip to step 7, "Uploading to the VLL".
- Log in to YouTube. Click the "Sign In" link in the upper right hand corner of any YouTube page.
- Click the yellow "Upload" button, which can be found in the upper right hand corner of YouTube.com.
- Click "Upload Video" and find the video file on your computer. Fill out the Video Title, Description, and tags and save your changes.
- When your video has finished processing you can find it in "My Videos." Play your video. On the right hand side column, under the video description, is the URL. Highlight and Copy it.
Posting video to the Video Learning Lab
- Log in to the Video Learning Lab and go to the Idea Forum.
- Scroll down to the "Ask the Community" section. Click inside the box under "Topic" and enter your video information.
- This is your chance to embed your video from YouTube. Paste the link that you copied in the box labeled "Embed YouTube Video" and click "Submit."
After your post has loaded it can be found under Recent Topics where other VLL members can comment on it.
